Modern Languages Study Support

Broughton's Modern Languages Department is running number of Study Support Sessions coming up at lunchtimes.

Road Closure Information

Please be aware of the road closure affecting access to East Fettes Avenue, details below:

Comely Bank Road (B900):  Inverleith between Comely Bank Street and North Park Terrace. From 25 November until 20 December 2019.

Scottish Power - Installation of power supply to development site.  Lane closures/contraflow.  Comely Bank Avenue and East Fettes Avenue closed.  2-way temporary traffic lights 09-11/12/19.  

School Careers Fair

This Friday 22 November is the Broughton HS Careers Fair from 9am to 1pm.

All students from S3-S6 will attend during the course of the morning.

Parents are most welcome to come along too to find out about jobs, apprenticeships, college and university.

Love Your Pet Day

Bro Enterprise is hosting the Animal Man on Friday 15 November from 1.30-2.30pm in school.  Come along to learn about and handle small animals and reptiles. Mini-zoo animals include:  Duck, Chicken, Rabbit, Guinea Pig, Rat, Mouse, Corn Snake, Bearded Dragon Lizard, Tortoise, Giant Snail and Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches. 

S2 Parents' Evening Date Change

Due to the decision made by the Westminster Parliament to hold a general election on 12 December, the date of our S2 Parents’ Evening will change to Wednesday 11 December.  

S4 Work Experience 11-15 Nov 2019

Please remind your child to take an Employer's report to their Work Experience placement next week. This needs to be brought back on their return.

Those who are not on placement should attend school as normal.

S1 Parents' Evening Information

The S1 Parents’ evening on Wednesday 6 November will include an Information Hub on mental health issues and access to free sanitary products. In addition, Items of school uniform kindly donated by the Edinburgh School Uniform Bank will also be available to parents.

Members of the Council’s Transactions team will be in the Hub to offer a drop-in service, providing information on Council Benefits and  Educational Benefits (EMA for 16 plus and Free School Meals and Clothing Grants).  Please email This email address is being protected from spambots.
