Coronavirus

We have no known cases of Coronavirus in school.  At this time of year pupils are always advised of good hygiene and handwashing routines to prevent the spread of germs.  This is usually done at Group Tutor time and is also included in the weekly Pupil Bulletins.

News & Opportunities for Students

Remember to check the BroWorks section of the website for up to date apprenticeship/job/work experience opportunities for students.

Coronavirus Update

NHS Lothian has updated their information regarding the Coronavirus.   Some pupils (and staff) may have returned from China or other designated risk areas after half term. Unless from Wuhan or Hubei province, pupils (or staff) who have returned from these designated risk areas and who have no symptoms may attend school as usual.

Former Pupil Success

Jodie Wilson, a recent former pupil (2007 – 2013) & Head Girl got in touch to let us know of her recent success.

She completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow in June 2019. The Royal Institute of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) awarded her the Rowand Anderson Silver Medal for best 5th Year student across the five Scottish Schools of Architecture, and her thesis project “Strangely Familiar” is being exhibited at the New Contemporaries 2020 exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy on The Mound, running from 15 February to 11 March 2020.

Jodie now lives in London and is working for If_Do, a small award-winning architectural practice. Being in London she cannot visit the school, but says that if any students at Broughton are considering a career in architecture, she would be very happy to hear from them and give them whatever support she can to help them follow her into the world of Architecture.
