Information from Home Energy Scotland
As families spend more time at home due to the time of year and government guidance on stopping the spread of Covid, winter will see energy costs be higher than ever. Many families will struggle to afford to heat their homes. Home Energy Scotland offer free and impartial support to families.
Warmer Homes Scotland is a Scottish Government funded scheme that helps Scottish households keep warm by fitting new energy efficiency improvements like home insulation, central heating, draught-proofing and home renewables systems at no cost to the householder.
So far, almost 20,000 households have received help, with an average £4,000 worth of improvements made per household. These measures not only improve the lives of the householders but also contribute to Scotland’s mission to reduce carbon emissions.
