Dear Parents/Carers

You will be aware that the Met Office has issued a red weather warning for wind from 10am to 5pm on Friday 24 January.

The decision has been taken by The City of Edinburgh Council to close all schools and early years settings.  Please see attached letter from Jackie Reid, Service Director for Education and Chief Education Officer. 

The following arrangements will be in place at Broughton High School to support the learning of our young people:

• We will be adopting a Blended Learning approach during the school closure caused by severe weather.
• Pupils have access to Microsoft Office 365 on their iPad and other digital devices at home.  This will enable them to access MS Teams and Faculty resources.
• S1-S3 pupils should check the Faculty Team for each of their usual classes on Friday’s timetable and complete identified tasks.  Any questions or queries can be posted to the Team’s Chat and the Teacher will aim to reply.
• S4-S6 pupils should continue with revision and/or coursework.
• S4-S6 Prelims – please note that alternative arrangements will be made to complete the Prelims planned for Friday 24 January (Chemistry – all levels, Classical Studies N5, Art & Design H, History H) .  It is likely that these will now take place towards the end of the Prelim diet but we will confirm changes at the start of the week.
