Support for Learning
Support for Learning
Our Support for Learning Department offers personalised help so every pupil can thrive. Over 45% of our pupils have an additional support need, and we tailor support both inside subject lessons and in smaller group settings to build skills, independence and confidence.
What we provide in class and small groups
We work alongside classroom teachers to ensure learning is accessible and appropriately challenging. Support is delivered flexibly, within mainstream lessons, in targeted small groups, or through one-to-one sessions when needed, so pupils receive the right help at the right time.
Pupil Support Assistants (PSAs)
Our PSAs are mainly based in classrooms, providing day-to-day support to pupils and helping them access the curriculum. They also assist with assessments and deliver focused support outside the classroom when required.
Digital skills and learning enhancement
We teach essential digital literacy to pupils with additional support needs, using technology to strengthen learning, communication and organisation. These skills are embedded into classroom activities and targeted programmes to boost engagement and outcomes.
